Welcome back to the World’s Edge Mountains, here in the stadium in the bowl of Karak Eight Peaks I can only say it is sweltering heat, the players better be careful today, though I hear the local clans are bringing ice down for the peaks so can all expect some snow tankards. It looks like we have 9,000 fans through the gates today, with the away team with a slight majority. (4-5)
Let’s meet the teams, fresh from their victory against the Authrian Cycle we have the home team the GRANITE BEARD GRUMBLERS!! Our visitors today recovering from a recent loss against the Glow Worm Goobers and looking to get back on top it’s the ARISTORATS!!!!!!
Both teams have 11 players on the roster for today’s match with the Aristorats having temporarily hired a travelling rat, having Piers and Bartholomew still recovering from injuries.
There’s the coin toss and looks like the Grumblers will be receiving in the first half.
Aristorats setting up with gutter runners and blitzers on the wings, line rats on the scrimmage line and thrower in the back. Two line rats held in reserve holding back their rat Ogre Theodore. Grumblers respond with blocks and blitzers on the front line with slayers backed up by blocks and runners central rear.
There is the kick, and it’s a high one, Flint light foot living up to his name and moved to catch, and he does.
DT1. Grumblers start the drive with some blocks, testing the Aristorats line up, and positioning to defend Flint who starts moving towards the half way line.
ST1. Aristorats are hitting back and ohhhh already Henry delivers a nasty blow to Storaz Stoneshoulder, he won’t be up for the rest of the game. So early the grumblers are down a player. Bob the hired line rat, is showing his stuff and has knocked down and stunned slayer Thogek, he won’t be happy when he stops seeing stars.
DT2. The Grumblers are pushing forward, Flint takes the ball to the line of scrimmage.
ST2. Theodore looks to be getting a little too excited and has sent Cuthbert to the dug out (KO), goes to block Thorek, but looks like he’s too crazed and has allowed to trip him to the ground.
DT3. Kamic has got the drop on Montgomery and despite his nimbleness he’s being sent to the dugout, I don’t think he’ll be getting up any time soon (MNG). Albric has got Edward seeing stars, Flint is sprinting down the swing with Barak as guard.
ST3. Theodore has pulled himself up, flattening Henry in the process, but he’s on Thror knocking him to the ground, but the dwarfen armour is standing up to the flailing teeth and claws. The Aristo’s are ducking and dodging with Tarquin putting Thorif on his back.
DT4. With the touchline in sight Albric clears some space sending Sebastien to the ground and seeing stars and Flint runs for the line with and extra burst of speed crossing the chalk TOUCHDOWN!!! 1-0 to The Grumblers.
Looks like the heat is getting to some of the players. Barak, Thorif and Edward are having to take a seat. Well, what do you expect from the two hairiest teams of this league? Though Cuthbert has recovered and is back on the pitch.
The teams are looking a little small with the AristoRats are down to nine players and the Grumblers on 8. The teams are lined up and there’s the kick, Sebastien is on the ball the AristoRats react with a quick snap. Sebastian catches the kick.
ST4. Tarquin is quick off the bat sending Kurgin sleeping back to the dug out (KO). Sebastian quick passes to Archibald, whilst the team push the dwarf line back.
DT5. Dwarfs are pushing back lead by Thogek leading the charge by knocking down and stunning Theodore.
ST5. The Aristorats have pinned the grumblers and knocked some to the ground allowing Archibald to scurry around the Grumbler’s line.
DT6. Desperation is gripping the Grumblers, Gromnir throws his shoulder against Bob, but with a nimble spin Bob has stepped to the side and whipped Gromnir’s feet out from under him.
ST6. With the touch line within yards Tarquin floors Albric, and the Aristorats form a protective cage around Archibald.
DT7. Thogek is launching himself at the cage to try to break it, he’s got Sebastian on the floor looks like he’ll need a moment. Kamnic has moved up on the other side.
ST7. It’s too little too late, Tarquin barges Kamnic to the ground and Archibald skitters over the line. TOUCHDOWN!!!!! 1-1.
This heat is not letting up and looks like Grumbler’s top scorer Flint Lightfoot and Gromnir Stoneshoulder are sitting out with heat stroke, and Kurgin Hammerfist is still out for the count. The Aristorats are suffering from the heat too, Cuthbert, Henry and the crazed heavy hitter Theodore has succumbed to the heat.
Aristorats are lined up with minimal on the scrimmage line with blizters guarding Sebastian and Archibald, whilst with the minutes closing have filled the line of scrimmage. Looks like the ball is not on their mind this late in the half.
There’s the kick, and it’s deep into the Grumbler’s half.
DT8. Surrounding the Aristo’s scrimmage line the Grumblers are bouncing the line rats around and looks like Bob is down and out with a blow from Thorek.
ST8. The Aristorats aren’t taking it lying down, well except for Bob, and the back up has come in with Tarquin laying Barak out as the half time whistle blows.
Welcome back sports fans, our are two teams today are not pulling back today. With the Aristorats receiving at the top of this half. Though between injury and heat the Aristorats are down to eight players and the Grumblers are down to nine.
There is the kick and it’s dangerously close to the touchline. The Aristorats are moving already, the balled has bounced out of bounds, Sebastian accepts the touchback.
ST9. Theodore starts the carnage again throwing Thror to the floor, Cuthbert following suit by introducing Thorif to the astrogranite, opening up the centre field. Sebastian passes the ball to Archibald.
DT9. Kamic takes Edward to the ground, whilst the rest of the Grumblers close in around the Aristorats in centre field.
ST10. Aristorats are ducking and diving now weaving around the Grumblers, taking the ball up on the wing.
DT10. Thogek is out for Archibald and brings him to the ground by his tail, that’ll rattle his teeth. The ball is loose, but is scooped up by Cuthbert on the bounce.
ST.11 Cuthbert makes a break for the touch line, Charles jumps on Thror whipping his tail taking him down. Henry takes down Kurgin stopping any change to Cuthbert being caught. Sebastian tries to break free, but looks like he’s got his tail trapped under a dwarfen boot and drops to the floor.
DT11. With Cuthbert far towards the touch line, it looks like the Grumblers have turned their attention more to the Aristorats, some blocks around.
ST12. Aristorats Theodore charges at Kamnic driving him back and knocking him several feet to the ground. Cuthbert dances over the line unchallenged, TOUCHDOWN!!! 2-1 to the Aristorats.
The heat is really getting to the teams. Charles, Henry and Theodore seem to be staying in the dugout, as well as Flint and Kamic. Leaving the Aristorats and Grumblers down to 7 to 8
There is the kick
DT12. With the whistle Thror loops past the Aristorats centre line and knocks Archibald to the ground. Albric makes Edward see stars, whilst Throif brings Bob to the floor. The Grumblers aren’t holding back. Barak grabs the ball and heads towards the scrum line.
ST13. Aristorats are pushing the Grumblers back
DT13. Thogek is living up to his slayer title and has sent Archibald to the dugout on a stretcher. By the looks of it the team apothecary doesn’t even know where to start. Early reports indicate a broken collar bone.
ST14. Cuthbert tries to strip the ball from Barak, but gets knocked down to the ground and needs a few minutes.
DT14. The Grumblers are using their numbers and pinning the Aristorats down. Thorif sends Percy into the dirt with Kurgan clearing the way for Barak by stunning Sebastian with a teeth chattering uppercut.
ST15. Aristorats are on the defensive now, Tarquin tries to dodge his mark, but is tripped and drops to the ground.
DT15. With time quickly running out Barak is a few steps from the touch line with Thror and Kurgin, the rest of the team are keeping the Aristorats on the ground.
ST16. The Aristorats are on the back paw, but still fighting.
DT16. With the final few seconds of the match, Barak sprints over the line, for the equalising TOUCHDOWN!!!!!
There is the whistle. Final Score; Aristorats 2, Granitebeard Grumblers 2. Both of these teams have fought hard for this result
